Preppie is the fifth studio album by American recording R&B artist Cheryl Lynn, released on November 04, 1983 by Columbia Records. The album features the R&B hit singles, “Encore” and “This Time”.
For her album, Preppie, Lynn produced most of the tracks with the exception of the single “Encore”  – which was written and produced by the Minneapolis funk music duo, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis.

Another stunning cut is the pulsing “FIX IT”, it’s as good as it gets, I’ve never hear it on the air. The breezy “FOOL A FOOL”, “THIS TIME”, a very true ballad and the pulsing “CHANGE THE CHANNEL” are all fantastic recordings. “PREPPIE” is as busy as ever,a lively cut. Another busy piece, “LOVE RUSH”, “NO ONE ELSE WILL DO” a great ballad , her original song “FREE”, a busy one, to the pulsing “LIFE’S TOO SHORT”.
