Get It Right is a 1983 Aretha Franklin album. It was produced by Luther Vandross, following his successful teaming with the singer for the Gold-certified album, “Jump To It“, in 1982.

Luther Vandross scored a popular success with Jump to It, but this follow-up is less impressive and proved less successful. Vandross wrote most of the material, including the number one R&B title track and the R&B Top Ten hit “Every Girl (Wants My Guy),” although he also has Franklin tackle the Temptations hit “I Wish It Would Rain,” in a painfully overwrought production. With this record, what had seemed to be an artist/producer marriage made in heaven hit the rocks.  As the title says, there’s no other like Aretha. After the succsesfull ’60’s and ’70’s soul years, she started at the early ’80s focussed on a sound mixed with Funk and Soul. With upcoming artists like Luther Vandross, Fonzi Thornton, Marcus Miller (contributed on this album) this is one of the samples. Just like the former album “Jump To It”, sophisticated with style. Excellent uptempo songs and slow jams.
